Carrollwood Players Is Looking For Playwrights!!!!
Coming in August 2012, CWP will be hosting its Annual One Act Weekend. Get out your pen and paper. Fire up your keyboard and kick your imagination into high gear. We are looking for short plays ranging from the silly to the serious; from the comedic to the most dramatic to be presented on Carrollwood Players' stage for a limited one weekend engagement of entertaining and original material. Each play should be designed to be performed in a 15 minutes or under time limit, on a representational stage using limited stage effects, set pieces and props. Strong language should be kept to a minimum and nudity on stage is not permissable. All plays should be making their stage debut at Carrollwood Players' theatre. All plays that are accepted must not have been produced or performed on any stage anywhere before. Original play submissions from local Tampa Bay area residents and CWP members are now being accepted up until March 1, 2012 and will require a non refundable $5.00 submission fee. Any playwright can submit as many scripts as he/she would like but it does require a $5.00 submission fee for each script submitted. So if an author submits 3 plays for example, that would result in a $15.00 submission fee. (Please do not send cash; credit cards can not be accepted; please send checks or money orders payable to Carrollwood Players, Inc.). The One Act Committee will accept 8 new plays for its One Act Weekend.
